تأسست جامعة التن باش (Altınbaş Üniversitesi) في مدينة اسطنبول عام 2008 تحت اسم "جامعة اسطنبول كمر بورغاز" بمبادرة من مؤسسة محمد التن باش للتعليم والثقافة، وغُيّر اسمها عام 2017 إلى الاسم الحالي. أُسّست الجامعة بناءً على وصية رجل الأعمال الراحل محمد التن باش الذي طالما شدّد على أهمية "الاستثمار في التعليم".
